Just what I needed to add a seat to my Tracker boat. It matches the original seat bases in the boat by Springfield Marine and is cast aluminum and high quality. Easy to install.

Had to drill out the holes for the floor mount bolts a bit, but works great.

Springfield makes very good products, this is no different. The base is solid, and we'll machined. The mounting holes are straight, but file off any burrs underneath that weren't cleaned off. It's painted with a protective coating, aka a clear coat. I usually sand it off, prime these and paint them a flat black. The paint adheres well, and there is no glare bouncing off them. It would not go into my tank cap, had to take and sand down the inside of both stubs or whatever you want to call them, very little sanding required to get it to fit and quick job if you have a belt sander.

Have had to replace several on my boat. Plastic insert absorbs lubricant and swells making seat post stick. Insert is not replaceable part but could and should be.

I have used these in several applications and absolutely love them. In my old home, the laundry room did have a place to hang the clothes as you were folding them and putting them on hangers. I attached a dowel that i had flattened on one side and attached it to the bracket. It enabled a rod that could be prominent in the room or hidden.
